"Trap beat tranny ain't yo nanny, make yo granny clutch her pearls!"
Trap Beat Tranny (TBT if u not trans, pronoun D) is 617's favorite rapper on a greyhound. D writes rap bops that make you wanna throw ass or throw hands (or I’m throwin yo ass OUT!) As a multidisciplinary creator, TBT's discography treats genre as a mere suggestion, motivating D to write whatever gets the audience moving and grooving to the beat of D's truth. Known for high energy shows that incorporate elements of drag, dance, call and response techniques and more, TRAP bEAT tRANNY USES THE SPECIFICITY OF d'S VOICE TO CREATE A CANVAS FOR OTHER QUEER PEOPLE TO USE FOR THE EXPRESSION OF THEIR OWN CREATIVITY AND INDIVIDUALITY.
TBT popped out in 2019 with the Femmetasy mixtape, a mixed medium rap and poetry tape musing on what Black trans femme survival looks like in the 21st century. Playing a few small shows and getting some press coverage in local Boston papers and independent music blogs, D's single "Hex Ur Ex" from that project did numbers after placement on a Spotify editorial playlist in 2020-remaining TBT's top streamed song to this day and earning D coverage in Bandcamp Daily. After spending 2020 and all of lockdown experiencing, witnessing, and writing about the violence Black trans people face online, TBT began uploading D'S discography to Bandcamp and using half of all proceeds for mutual aid to support other Black trans people.
TRAP BEAT TRANNY would later return in 2021 with D'S debut album CYBERBULLY. TBT'S FRESHMAN receivED press coverage in Dig Boston as well as the Boston Globe,  GIVING RISE TO A performANCE at Trans Resistance MA's 2nd Annual Trans Resistance March in Franklin Park, Massachusetts, a festival d has had the honor of returning for twice since. Now nyc based for the past two years, Trap Beat tranny is training for THE TBT takeover. kNOWN TO BE FOUND WHEREVER THE CHECK CLEARS, don't sleep, 'fore you miss D next move.
